The Tension Must Be Just Right. A soft and intimate art exhibition featuring Afiza Abu Bakar, Lada Dedic and Xeem Noor. p/s: You are welcome to wear & try on selected artworks.

Afiza Abu Bakar is a textile creator based in Japan, her practice stems from the Japanese method Saori style weaving that emerged in Japan in the 1970’s by Misao Jo, emphasizing individual creativity including what is generally seen as flaws and mistakes in the textile as a valuable character of the person weaving.

Lada Dedic is a full-time nomadic artist with a love-affair with Malaysia. Her art practice embraces a questioning and investigative approach to exploring themes of cartography, neuroscience and microbiology; creating works which are interplays of science and art. For ‘tension’, Lada sculpts unwearable pieces of clothing which she pathologises with psychobabble.

Xeem Noor is a visual artist interested in art-making as self-documentation. She approaches art as a form of meditation and comfort; incorporating & manipulating embroidery, textiles and vibrant colors into abstract forms and silhouettes.
