REFEST 2023 is here to ENGAGE & EMPOWER!
In Celebration of International Women’s Day 2023, 3R Media is proud to present ReFest 2023: Engage and Empower! The two-day women-led festival has been curated to actively platform women’s groups and initiatives that work on social issues or are in support of marginalized communities.
ReFest 2023: Engage & Empower will feature talks, workshops, moderated forums, performances, a super fun bazaar by women-led businesses and interactive installations as part of the campaign for Students Not Brides.
“The theme of Engage and Empower is to encourage everyone to come and find out how they can make a difference to push for social awareness and change. Our program is curated in such a way that you can educate yourself and meet different organizations all doing various activities from Social Enterprise businesses to women’s rights. Best of all it's free. Just walk in,” said Datin Paduka Marina Mahathir one of the founders and co-director of 3R Media.
The highlights of the festival include forums and talks spotlighting gender empowerment and issues, performances by female singer-songwriters (including Karen Nunis, Billie Blue, Ally Lew and a poetry slam session), interactive installations promoting the existing efforts of women in different sectors and a bazaar comprising of 26 vendor booths from a diverse and inclusive variety of women-led businesses, social enterprises and local NGOs.
“We have talks on Breast Cancer Awareness and a medical booth for free health check-ups. As a Breast Cancer survivor myself, I advocate the importance of understanding your body to be able to detect cancer at an early stage.” said Lina Tan, who is the other co-founder and director of 3R Media.
Exclusive goodie bags from Claire's Organics will also be up for grabs, with lots of exciting giveaways and prizes to be won.

This community-centered event will be free for public admission at The Grey Box, GMBB, Bukit Bintang from 11 March - 12 March, 2023 all day from 11am to 7 pm.

3R Media is a media production company and community initiative that was created to recognize the importance of women’s roles in society. 3R, short for Respect, Relax and Respond started as a television show in the year 2000 by Datin Paduka Marina Mahathir and Lina Tan and the show highlighted issues for young women as well as organized on-ground.
